9 Fun & Easy Recipes for Pretzel Candies

Let’s be honest, pretzel candies are always one of the highlights of the snack table during any party or event. The moment they get introduced to the menu, everyone can’t wait to get their hands on that tasty little treat. It’s the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and savory.

Whether you’re interested in some pretzel candy ideas to make for an upcoming event or you’re just here to drool over what could be, we’re going to share with you some of our favorite and most popular recipes for pretzel candies. Who knows, they could be what everyone’s talking about at your next party.

Christmas-Themed Caramel Pretzel Rounds

This one is labeled ‘Christmas-themed,’ but you can really go with whatever theme you want. All you need is a round-shaped pretzel, a caramel (the candy), and colored M&Ms. Place one caramel inside the circle pretzel and bake for five minutes on a baking sheet at 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once the caramel is soft enough, press the M&M on top of it. For Christmas, go with red and green M&Ms. For the Super Bowl party, go with the colors of the two teams that are playing.

Square Pretzels Topped With M&Ms

This one is similar to the last one, but this time we’re doing chocolate pretzels instead of caramel. All you need is a Hershey’s Hugs candy, square pretzels (the one that looks like a window), and a colored M&M. Bake at 200 degrees Fahrenheit until the Hershey’s Kisses melt enough to push down.

Like before, gently press the M&M on top of the Hershey's Kiss and let it cool in the refrigerator before prepping on the snack table or bagging it up. You can also drizzle caramel over top, if you’d like.

Milk Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel Wands

You’ve got circle treats and square treats, now let’s transition to pretzel sticks (also known as rods or wands). All you need to do is melt chocolate in a dish and dip the pretzel in the melted chocolate ¾ of the way down. You want to leave an un-dipped spot on the bottom so guests can hold it while eating.

After dipping, place the pretzel on a piece of parchment paper to dry. This is your chance to add sprinkles or other toppings, as you desire. Go ahead, have fun with it – you know you want to!

Pretzels, ROLO Candies, & Pecan Halves

Alright, now we’re getting a little fancy with our pretzel candy treats, but that’s okay – it’s worth it. Also known as a ROLO pretzel turtle candy, all you’ll need are ROLO candies, pecan halves, and pretzels. Place one ROLO on each pretzel and bake at 350 degrees until it becomes soft.

Once soft, press the pecan half down on the ROLO to almost flatten it. You’ll get a shape that sort of resembles a turtle (if you use your imagination!), but it absolutely tastes delicious.

Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel Wreath

This one is perfect for the holidays, but you can always change the colors and use it for any occasion. All you need is green sprinkles (or any color), white chocolate chips, and pretzel rods (large or small). Melt the white chocolate and dip the rods in about ¾ of the way down.

After dipping, cover the chocolate in sprinkles and let them dry on a piece of parchment paper. Once dry, arrange them on a plate in a circle with the green sprinkle side facing inward. Bam, it looks just like a wreath!

The Ultimate Trail Mix

A classic if there ever was one, trail mix has been a thing for over 100 years. All you need to do is combine a mixture of pretzels, M&Ms, nuts, raisins, and whatever else you’d like to add to your trail mix. Serve it in a big bowl for a party or in ziploc bags for your next lunch at work.

Some interesting additions to a trail mix include dried fruits, sunflower seeds, good-quality chocolate chips, shredded coconut, animal crackers, cheez-its, marshmallows, and graham crackers.

Chocolate, Peanut Butter, & Pretzel Candy Bars

Have you ever tried to make your own candy bar? It’s not as hard as you’d think and there are endless possibilities when you put your imagination to work. To start, beat together 1.25 cups of peanut butter, a cup of powdered sugar, vanilla, and 1.5 sticks of butter.

Once mixed, add chopped pretzels, one cup of powdered sugar, and chocolate chips in by hand. Line the mixture on a 9x9 pan and press it evenly. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt some chocolate and peanut butter, stir, and add it over top of the pan. Sprinkle with chopped pretzels and chocolate chips, cool, and then serve.

Reindeer Peanut Butter Balls

This one is simple and can be made to resemble several different animals. All you need to do is blend some peanut butter, powdered sugar, and butter. Make one-inch balls out of the mixture and freeze them for 20 minutes. While they’re in the freezer, melt some chocolate.

Once the peanut butter balls are firm, dip them in the chocolate and let them dry on a piece of parchment paper. Take a regular pretzel and break them apart so you have two big reindeer antlers. Stick them on the peanut butter balls and add some edible eyes for a little extra flare.

Loaded Caramel-Dipped Pretzel Wand

If you know your guests are caramel lovers or you want to give them some variety from the chocolate-dipped pretzel wands, here you go. Instead of chocolate, use melted caramel. For a topping, you can use your imagination and add a combination of different options for guests.

For example, have one with chopped M&Ms, one with nuts, one with chopped Heath bar, one with sprinkles, and one with a combination of all three. Your guests won’t know which one to pick!
