Every year, football fans all around the world gather around the TV for four straight hours as the two top teams in the NFL battle it out in the final game of the season – the Super Bowl. It’s one of the most-watched televised events of all time and is all anyone can talk about for weeks.
There are so many things to love about Super Bowl parties. Good football, an epic halftime show, hilarious commercials throughout, and good company. Of course, a Super Bowl party isn’t complete without amazing food and even better snacks – including pretzels and dip!
Easy Dip Recipes for Pretzel Sticks & Soft Pretzels
The upcoming Super Bowl LVI 2022 is currently scheduled for February 13, which means you have plenty of time to determine what snacks you want to serve guests. With so many options, you really can’t go wrong, but it’s clear that pretzels and dip are a sure favorite among many.
It’s simple, but you can make it as complex as you want. For example, you don’t have to go with the traditional knot-shaped pretzel – you can choose pretzel rods, pretzel sticks, pretzel squares, pretzel circles, soft pretzels, or a combination of the five. It’s 100% entirely up to you!
And then there’s the dip, which allows even more flexibility, creativity, and versatility. Here are some of our favorite Super Bowl dips for pretzels:
Chocolate Hazelnut Recipe
A chocolate hazelnut dip is a very basic, yet versatile option for Super Bowl snacks – especially pretzels. We all love a chocolate-covered pretzel, so it only makes sense. You can also serve other snacks that go well with chocolate alongside the pretzels, like strawberries or bananas.
All you need to do is warm ½ cup of whole milk in a small saucepan and whisk in a chocolate hazelnut spread, such as Nutella. Within a couple of minutes, you have yourself a delicious dip!
Beer Cheese Dip Recipe
One of the most popular dips for pretzels, both soft and hard, beer cheese dip is what you’re likely to receive when you go to a restaurant. All you need to do is heat butter, four, onion powder, and cayenne pepper in a saucepan for one minute. That’s when the beer comes in.
Slowly add the beer and milk over medium heat, whisking until smooth as you add the contents. Then add mustard and Worcestershire sauce until thick and bubbly. Bring to low heat, add cheese, and stir until smooth.
Cilantro Pesto Dip
If you’re a vegan or are looking for a healthy Super Bowl dip for you and your guests, cilantro pesto is the way to go. It’s green and can be paired with a variety of snacks, including pretzels. You’ll need cilantro lime pesto, which requires cilantro, garlic, lime juice and zest, and olive oil.
Once the pesto is made, whisk in mayo, sour cream, and salt until you reach your desired thickness. All that’s left to do now is serve it and watch your guests smile as they try it!
Mustard Pretzel Dip Recipe
Another popular dip for pretzels and one that you’ve likely tried before, a mustard pretzel dip is always a big hit at any Super Bowl party. It goes well with both soft and hard pretzels, giving guests a variety of options as they watch the game. Oh, and it’s extremely easy to make!
Just combine sour cream, mayonnaise, mustard, sugar, minced onion, ranch dressing, and horseradish into a bowl. Stir, refrigerate for 30 minutes, and serve with your choice of pretzels.
If you’re looking for a dip that’s packed with flavors and goes great with both pretzels and tortilla chips, then look no further than this amazing corn dip recipe. Just combine corn, Mexicorn, sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions, and cheese in a mixing bowl before transferring to a pan.
Once mixed well, bake the dip at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Serve alongside your snacks, garnish with green onions, and other dips to WOW your Super Bowl guests.
Bacon & Cheddar Cheese Beer Dip
If you’re a fan of the beer cheese dip and want to take it to another level, this bacon and cheddar cheese beer dip will certainly do the trick! It combines three of our favorite things – shredded cheese, beer, and bacon! First, you’ll want to chop your bacon into small bits, cook them, and then set it aside.
Then, make the beer cheese dip as we detailed earlier in this post. When the beer cheese dip is complete, stir in most of the bacon bits and leave the rest to garnish. Serve, enjoy, and repeat!
French Onion Dip
When most people see a bowl of french onion dip, they immediately picture a nice bag of Lay’s original potato chips sitting beside it. While that makes for a great snack, you can’t forget about the pretzels – especially hard pretzels! It’s a delicious combination that your guests will love!
It’s quite easy to make. Combine sour cream or cream cheese, dried onion, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and parsley in a bowl and mix. Refrigerate for an hour, serve, and watch your guests chow it down!
Hummus has become a preferred favorite among many tortilla chip lovers, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only snack that goes well with it! In fact, pretzels are the perfect snack to serve with hummus and there are a variety of unique flavors you can try at your Super Bowl party.
For traditional hummus, throw tahini and lemon juice in a food processor. Process for 30 seconds before adding olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and salt. Then rinse some chickpeas, add them to the processor, and process. Add water and continue processing until desired thickness.
